Nude and Portrait Studies Using Graphite & Egg Tempera

In my figure drawings, I start with graphite and white Prismacolor pencil to build soft contrasts between light and shadow. The subtlety of the grayscale provides a strong foundation. Then, I outline the figure using a single color of egg tempera, applying a textured technique I developed to add depth. The vibrant, textured tempera stands out against the smooth graphite, creating a striking contrast that draws the eye and enhances the figure’s presence. This combination of precision and texture brings the piece to life in a unique way.
